Do you sense the Holy Spirit calling you to ministry in Saskatchewan?
Our church family is seeking a Lead Pastor for our small rural church. We are a church with 80+ years of
history and are currently staffed by volunteers, and a part-time administrator. We have 17 committed
members and a weekly attendance between 40 and 60. Our age demographic is 15 strong in the ages 20 &
under, 15 wonderful young adults ages 20 – 30, 25 engaged adults aged 30 – 65, and 8 retired, over the age of
65. The majority of the congregation is employed as blue collar and professionals in the community and
surrounding area. We have a strong core group, leading kid’s and youth ministry, young adults, and several
with strong musical abilities. Our ministry focus is Next Gen and we strive for a comfortable casual ministry
style. Our meeting place is a 35 year old building consisting of classrooms, offices, and a multi-use
gymnasium, that is carefully maintained by volunteers. We’ve developed a new vision statement in the last six
months and are currently further defining that statement through collaboration with our ministry leaders and
church family.
Kindersley is a 4500 person resilient community, serving an additional 15,000 people within a 100 km radius.
Agriculture and Oil & Gas are the main drivers of the local economy. Our town is a sports & recreation
oriented community with a vast array of shopping and services, health facilities, child care facilities, three
schools and a community college (www.kindersley.ca). Our community is growing in ethnical diversity.
Kindersley Alliance Church is one of six local evangelical churches with other Alliance Churches within a 100
km radius.
Our church family is seeking a shepherd, empowered by the Holy Spirit, one who engages others to take
responsibility for the vision that has been developed. Our Lead Pastor must be a lover of God’s Word, growing
in personal spirituality through a devotion and prayer life. Growing in Biblical knowledge in order to train
leaders, but also a commitment to further personal training are important qualities. In addition, the gift of
disciple making and a heart for spiritual renewal and development of spiritual gifts are desired. The ability to
connect and work with Next Gen and our rural church family through the gift of hospitality are also desirable
qualities. Also, our Lead Pastor must have a heart for the lost of our community. The successful candidate
must need to be Licensed by the Christian and Missionary Alliance Denomination and be open to Ordination.
Our leadership culture is a team approach, active, open, eager, willing to train and be trained. We allow other
leaders to have the room they need to do their job. We are also open and engaging in discussion with our
church family. At Kindersley Alliance Church we actively support women in ministry roles and are receptive to
bi-vocational ministers.
Looking forward, three challenges our church family wishes to embrace are: being a visible light to our
community (community involvement), mentoring and training new leaders while increasing church
membership and discipleship, and remaining Biblically sound while connecting in an ever changing social
